"In The End I Really Need A Ladder" by John Kupitz

It starts with one thing, I don't know how
I've tried it 20 times and I still can't now
I'm just a dope cannot cope on the slopes
So I mope, face down in the snow

Skill is a valuable thing, others fly by while I hit tree
I just wanted down but there's only one way
And I've been here all day it's so unreal

Didn't look out below, watched my board go out from my big toe
Somehow it detached but I didn't even know
Now it's flying through the air and I'm in the snow

Well I kept all my pain inside and though I almost died I just broke my arm
And I broke some kid's knee, now my board's in the tree a tragedy
Everytime I tried so hard

And got so far, but in the end I really need a ladder
My board's up there, and I'm down here
So in the end I really need a ladder

One thing I don't know how, I've tried it 20 times and I still can't now
I'm just a dope cannot cope on the slopes, so I mope, face down in the snow
In spite of the way that I broke his knee
Actin' like I could board but I can't you see
Remembering all the times that I got to ski

Everytime I crashed, so boarding's not the way that it was before
I don't even have my board anymore
Not that I had one back then but at least there was one I could rent

Now they won't let me take one outside and even though I tried, they held back my arms
Liability well that's what they told me
A tragedy cuz you know I tried so hard

And got so far, but in the end I really need a ladder
I made a kid fall, and watched him ball
But in the end, I really need a ladder

I said I must improve, knowing full well what I would do
For this, that kid's dumb parents are gonna sue
I said I must improve, knowing full well what I would do
For this, that kid's dumb parents are gonna sue

I tried so hard, and got so far, but in the end
I really need a lawyer, I broke his knee, and both his skis
So in the end, I really need a lawyer
